Museum Free Days 2012

Whether it’s gazing up at a 67 million year old T. rex skeleton, reaching out to touch a Moon rock, or coming nose to nose with a dolphin, Chicago’s world-class museums are of immeasurable educational value for visitors of all ages. Many of these acclaimed cultural institutions and historic landmarks have free and discounted admission days throughout the year, making visiting a museum an even greater value.

Please note that you must be an Illinois resident to take advantage of free admission days at many, but not all, major museums in Chicago. See the list below for specifically which museums apply. Out-of-state visitors may continue to take advantage of great discounted admission offers that include special prices for seniors, children, educators, active-duty military personnel, museum members and others.  Check individual museums’ websites for details.

Note: Check back often for updated dates. Museum Free Day dates are subject to change without notice based upon individual museums’ schedules, and though museum admission may be free on designated days, some museums may charge a fee to view special exhibits.

Affordable Winter FUN!

We just got back from Portage, Wisconsin near the Dells.  My boys skied at Cascade for 3 days straight because KIDS 12 and younger SKI FREE (with paid adult)!  So we only had to buy my husband’s 3-day lift ticket!  We have been going to Cascade for years and would highly recommend it for outdoor, winter fun.

35 of 36 trails open!

The natural snow we recently received, plus the great snowmaking weather that we had, have allowed us to be nearly 100% open. Although it has been a strange beginning to the ski season with warmer than normal temperatures, our investment in snowmaking over the years has helped us to have very good skiing conditions.Currently, every trail is open except the Glades.
